Commencement Season Shines at SBVC
As the academic year draws to a close, San Bernardino Valley College is filled with pride and anticipation. A wave of graduation events began earlier this month, each one honoring the diverse identities, journeys, and achievements of our incredible students, and the celebrations are still going strong!
So far, a series of cultural and academic ceremonies have honored SBVC graduates in meaningful and intimate ways:
The first-ever STEM Graduation Ceremony recognized students who have excelled in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Island Grad celebrated the accomplishments of Pacific Islander students and uplifted their rich cultural heritage. The Asian Pacific Islander (API) Graduation spotlighted the contributions and journeys of API students across campus.
Still ahead are several more powerful celebrations that capture the spirit and strength of the SBVC student body:
Lavender Grad will offer a joyful and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ graduates, honoring identity, resilience, and community. Graduates of the Aeronautics Program will be recognized for their achievements as they prepare to soar into aviation careers. The Pharmacy Technician and Nursing Pinning Ceremonies, held in the Auditorium, will celebrate students entering critical healthcare professions. Black Grad, also hosted in the Auditorium, will serve as a proud and powerful recognition of Black excellence, community, and achievement. Nuestra Grad, honoring Latinx graduates, will take place at the Greek Theatre in a vibrant celebration rooted in tradition and pride.
All of these milestones build toward the culmination of the season: SBVC’s 98th Commencement Ceremony at San Manuel 66ers Stadium. Graduates will walk the stage before their loved ones, receive their diplomas, and step confidently into the next chapter of their lives.
Congratulations, Class of 2025!
