Centennial Celebration Begins with SBVC’s Spectacular SummerFest

San Bernardino Valley College launched its centennial year in spectacular fashion with SummerFest on Saturday, July 5. The evening featured fireworks, a high-energy concert by the San Bernardino Symphony, and a wide range of family-friendly activities that drew a large crowd to campus.
In partnership with the Symphony, the SBVC Foundation distributed free limited-edition fans featuring the evening’s program and information on joining the SBVC Alumni Association.
This year’s SummerFest introduced exciting new attractions, including a Ferris wheel and an expanded kids’ zone. Crowd favorites like local food trucks, informational booths, and live entertainment added to the festive atmosphere.
The highlight of the night was a concert and fireworks show held at SBVC’s football stadium. Themed America the Beautiful: Dancing to the ’80s, the symphony delivered an unforgettable performance blending ’80s pop hits with patriotic classics. The evening concluded with a dazzling fireworks display set to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, marking a memorable start to SBVC’s 100th anniversary celebrations.
