San Bernardino Valley College President Dr. Gilbert J. Contreras visited Cajon High School on December 11 to present the Associated Student Body with a $1,000 award from the SBVC Foundation.

Dr. Contreras was welcomed by enthusiastic ASB members and an SBVC Centennial sign displayed at the school. Cajon High School earned the award for recording the highest registered attendance at SBVC’s Homecoming football game in November. Middle College High School also received a $1,000 award in recognition of its strong student turnout.

During the visit, Dr. Contreras spent time with Audrey Reisenhofer’s ASB class, engaging students in SBVC trivia and discussion. Cajon High School Principal Dr. Christopher Jackson, an SBVC alumnus, expressed appreciation to Dr. Contreras and the SBVC Foundation for the award and emphasized the importance of community college pathways and student leadership.

SBVC Foundation Executive Director Mike Layne also attended the visit, along with Foundation staff member Eve Mulhall and Executive Assistant Dr. Jesse Neimeyer-Romero.
