SBVC Athletics Golf Tournament featuring Dave Stockton

San Bernardino Valley will host its 3rd Annual Athletics Golf Tournament on Friday, April 19th at Arrowhead Country Club in San Bernardino.

Dave Stockton photoPGA player and hometown boy, Dave Stockton, will conduct a clinic before the tournament scramble.  Stockton was raised in San Bernardino and played on the PGA tour, reaching a “Hall of Fame” level with 11 wins, including two Majors; the 1970 and 1976 PGA Championships.  Stockton also won the U.S. Senior Open in 1996 and achieved Leading Money Winner and Play of the Year honors in 1993 and 1994.

Stockton joined his two sons working in professional golf instruction, focusing primarily on putting and short game.  Notable clients past and present include Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Matt Kuchar.

Tournament fees are $175/player and $600/foursome and includes golf, cart, lunch, dinner and goody bag.  Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with the Stockton Clinic from 10-11 a.m., followed by lunch and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.  The day wraps up with a buffet dinner and auction.  Register online at www.sbvcfoundation.org.

Proceeds will benefit SBVC Athletics; a nice fit for Dave Stockton as his father was inducted into the SBVC Athletic Hall of Fame after his death in 1983.  Gail Stockton attended SBVC in 1928 and won two conference golf titles.
