Student Success Stories: Jaena Sparks
While working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Jaena Sparks found deep fulfillment in caring for nursing home residents, forging strong bonds during their most vulnerable moments.
Drawn to SBVC’s Nursing program for its stellar reputation, she was inspired by her RN mother’s praise for its strong foundation. Sparks quickly recognized the faculty’s dedication to excellence, crediting their support for her success. Graduating with honors in December, she was selected as the student speaker, reminding classmates of their shared purpose as future nurses.
"The Nursing program has had such a positive impact on me, and I would love to give back by guiding future nursing students the same way I was supported," she said.
In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and spending time with her husband and puppy. Preparing for the NCLEX, she aspires to become an ICU nurse and hopes to return to SBVC as a clinical instructor to mentor future nursing students.
